Timothy George Lillies, Chudleigh 1960 - 64

We are saddened to report the passing of Timothy George Lillies (OH), grandson of L. Lillies (OH).

Born on 15th March 1947, Tim joined Chudleigh House in September 1960, where he quickly became a well-known and much-liked member of the school community. His academic years were marked by steady achievement, gaining his G.C.E. “O” Levels in 1962, 1963 and 1964, before progressing to the VI Form in September 1963.

Tim’s wide range of interests reflected both curiosity and enthusiasm. He was a member of the Model Club, Natural History Society, Tennis Club, Gramophone Society, Photographic Society, and the Projection Committee. His involvement in the Combined Cadet Force was equally notable; he attained the rank of Corporal, completing his Basic Test in December 1961 and the A.P.C. in March 1962. He also attended Camp Plymouth in 1962.

Tim left the school in July 1964 with the good wishes of his peers and teachers alike. Those who knew him remember a thoughtful and engaged young man with a gentle humour and a willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life.

The Old Honitonian community extends its deepest condolences to Tim’s family and friends. He will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who shared their school days with him.
