PATRICK ALEXANDER HIGHETT BAILY - CHUDLEIGH 40-47
Patrick passed away after a long illness on 25th July 2019, leaving his wife, Margaret, of 59 years and 11 months, 3 children and 5 grandsons.
Born on 23rd January 1930, he spent 7 years at Allhallows, trained to become a Chartered Accountant and was fortunate to be offered work in the Far East, spending 8 years in Hong Kong.
Patrick’s eldest daughter writes (prompted by the article written by Sean Day-Lewis in the last magazine):
My mother worked with Sean’s uncle and on meeting Sean, Sean was subsequently introduced to my father. Coincidentally at the time of meeting, my father was wearing his AH tie, which of course Sean instantly recognised! The camaraderie between them began...Sean says that my father was taught by Mr. Stone, who encouraged him to develop his lifelong love of classical music. We still have about 50 of his beloved 78 RPM classical records in the family home.
