Stephen John Harvey FCA (S. 37- 47)
Stephen died peacefully at home in Jersey on 15th June 2022 at the age of 90. He was born on 11th September 1931 in Southsea. From the age of 7 to 17 he attended Allhallows with his younger brother Martin. He spoke fondly of his time at Allhallows and of the friendships he made there, including Peter Minchin, Graham Prosser and Sean Day- Lewis.
Stephen’s great love of sport started at school and continued throughout his life. In his younger days he played tennis, squash, hockey and cricket, followed by bowls when he retired. As well as playing, he loved watching live sport and later watching sport on TV whenever possible. Other interests included travelling, reading, walking his beloved Boxers and playing bridge.
After school, Stephen qualified as a chartered accountant, working on the Isle of Wight and then overseas in Tanganika and Nigeria. When the Biafra war broke out he had to flee and settled in Leicester. He worked for the Stead and Simpson shoe company for over 30 years, before enjoying a long and happy retirement in Jersey.
Stephen is dearly missed by his widow Susan, his three daughters, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
