Nick.M.Tomlinson (Shallow 1961 - 66)
The club was recently informed by OH Richard Tomlinson of the sad passing of his younger brother, N.M. Tomlinson (Sh. 1960-1965). Nick passed away in March 2024.
Richard shared a fond memory from Nick’s time at Allhallows:
"One of his notable achievements came in his final year when he found an orphaned roe deer fawn on the cliffs. Nick cared for the fawn, and with the permission of his housemaster, Major T.A. Jones, he built an enclosure in the garden. The deer became a beloved visitor attraction. When Nick left school at the end of the year, he arranged for the deer to be relocated to Philip Wayre’s new Wildlife Park in Norfolk, where it lived a long and happy life. We visited a couple of years later and witnessed a touching reunion."
Nick leaves behind a wife and son.
During his time at Allhallows, Nick was a House Prefect in 1965, an active member of the Natural History Society, Chair of the Piscatorial Society, and an engaged participant in the C.C.F.
