Roy Frith (Shallow 1945 - 48)
The club was very saddened to hear the news of the passing of Roy Frith, a member of Shallow House from 1945 to 1948, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024.
Roy fondly recalled his time at Allhallows, despite the bitter cold winters of the post-war years in Shallow.
His connection to the school was so strong that he sent his own son Russell there, continuing the tradition.
After completing his education, Roy returned to the family farm in Hampshire, where he worked before relocating to Dorset in 1971. There, he dedicated the remainder of his career to farming, a life’s work that brought him great fulfilment.
A passionate restorer of vintage agricultural machinery, Roy amassed a remarkable collection, including 10 tractors and a range of other historic equipment. His love for preservation led him to regularly participate in the Great Dorset Steam Fair, where he proudly showcased his restored Field Marshall tractor, binder, and thrasher.
Roy leaves behind a legacy through his loving family: a son, a daughter, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
