Julian Robert Hobbs (Stanton House, 1965–1969)
We are saddened to report the passing of Julian Robert Hobbs, born August 1951, a distinguished member of Stanton House from September 1965 until July 1969.
Julian was a committed student and leader during his time at Allhallows. He served as House Prefect and later School Prefect, becoming Head of Stanton House in 1968. His academic achievements included G.C.E. "O" and "A" Levels and the prestigious Headmaster’s Prize in 1969.
A talented sportsman, Julian earned Senior Colts XV Colours in Rugby (1967), competed in the Pitt Cup (1968), and was awarded 2nd XV Colours in the same year. He also represented the school in Cricket, receiving 2nd XI Colours in both 1968 and 1969.
He served in the C.C.F., attaining the rank of Lance Corporal in the Army Proficiency Certificate programme and participated in Arduous Training Camp in 1968—an experience that reflected his dedication and resilience.
Julian’s time at Allhallows was marked by service, achievement, and camaraderie. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
