INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME
OPENING HYMN
- Thy hand, O God, has guided 4. Through many a day of darkness,:
Thy flock, from age to age; Through many a scene of strife,
The wondrous tale is written, The faithful few fought bravely,
Full clear, on every page; To guard the Nation’s life.
Our fathers own’d Thy goodness, Their Gospel of redemption,
And we their deeds record; Sin pardon’d, man restored,
And both of this bear witness, Was all in this unfolded,
One Church, one Faith, one Lord, One Church, one Faith, one Lord.
- Thy heralds brought glad tidings 5. And we, shall we be faithless?
To greatest , as to least; Shall hearts fail, hands hang down?
They bade men rise, and hasten Shall we evade the conflict,
To share the great King’s feast; And cast away our crown?
And this was all their teaching, Not so; in God’s deep counsels
In every deed and word, Some better thing is stored;
To all alike proclaiming We will maintain, unflinching,
One Church, one Faith, one Lord. One Church, one Faith, one Lord.
- When shadows thick were falling, 6. Thy mercy will not fail us,
And all seem’d sunk in night, Nor leave Thy work undone;
Thou, Lord did send Thy servants, With Thy right hand to help us,
Thy chosen sons of light, And Victory shall be won:
On them and on Thy people And then, by men and angels,
And this was still their message, And this shall be their anthem,
One Church, one Faith, one Lord. One Church, one Faith, one Lord.
Prayers of Penitance:
The officiant invites us to confess our sins.
ALL Amen Lord have mercy
The officiant declares the Absolution
ACT OF RE-DEDICATION AN REMEMBRANCE
We remain standing.
Peter Sloan, President of the Old Honitonians Club remembers:
Let us dedicate our lives to the service of God, our Queen, our country and our
Neighbours. Let us remember all those who have died in the service of their country, especially those recorded on our memorials. We remember those of Allhallows, especially the recently departed.

HYMN
1 .For all the saints, who from their labours rest, 4. And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
Who thee by faith before the world confessed, Steals on the ear the distant triumph-song,
Thy name, O Jesus, be for ever blessed, And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong,
Allelulia, Allelulia! Allelulia, Allelulia!
- Thou wast their rock, their fortress and their might, 5. But lo! There breaks a more glorious day:
Thou, Lord their Captain in the well fought fight, The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
Thou in the darkness still their one true light. The King of Glory passes on his way;
Allelulia, Allelulia. Allelulia, Allelulia.
- O may thy soldiers, faithful, true and bold, 6. From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast
Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old, Through the gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
And win, with them the victor’s crown of gold. Singing to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Allelulia, Allelulia! Allelulia, Allelulia!

Prayers
We kneel or sit
We say together:
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those that trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation;
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen
HYMN
- Love Devine, all loves excelling 4. Thee we would be always blessing,
Joy of Heav’n, to earth come down, Serve thee as Thy hosts above,
Fix in us Thy humble dwelling, Pray and praise Thee without ceasing,
All Thy faithful mercies crown. Glory in Thy perfect love.
- Jesu, thou art all compassion, 5. Finish then Thy new creation,
Pure unbounded love thou art: Pure and spotless let us be;
Visit us with Thy salvation, Let us see Thy great salvation,
Enter every trembling heart. Perfectly restored in Thee.
- Come, Almighty to deliver, 6. Changed from glory into glory,
Let us all Thy grace receive; Till in Heav’n we take our place,
Suddenly return, and never, Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Never more Thy temples leave. Lost in wonder, love and praise.
ADDRESS
HYMN
- Praise my soul, the King of Heaven 2. Praise Him for His grace and favour
To His feet thy tribute bring: To our fathers in distress;
Rasnsom’d, heal’d, restored, forgiven, Praise Him still the same as ever
Evermore His praises sing; Slow to chide, and swift to bless;
Allelulia! Allelulia! Allelulia! Allelulia!
Praise the everlasting King. Glorious in His faithfulness.
3. Father-like, He tends and spares us,
Well our feeble frame He knows;
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes;
Allelulia! Allelulia!
Widely yet His mercy flows.
BLESSING
