OHs who knew Alan Thomas (H 1963-74), Director of Music and Housemaster of Stanton, will be glad to know that he returned to the UK from Canada to celebrate an important birthday with his brother’s family and to meet old Allhallows Colleagues in Colyton at the end of July 2006.

Derek Blooman and Margaret Clark organised a lunch-party in The Colyton cricket pavilion for Alan, attended by James Turner, Bill and Honor Preston, Graham and Mary Jones, Geoffrey Johnston, Bob and Julia Olliver, John Cloake, Barbara Clark, John Bardolph and their local friends. Alan went to Ashbury College, Ottawa in 1974 as Director of Music, then ran his own Music School and plays a major part in the musical life of Ottawa; he is performing soon in the Welsh Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Alan was able to meet his former Head of House, Justin James (St 66-70) and his wife, and of course is firm friends with Tim Edwards (C 66-71) a naval architect and his family, who live in Nova Scotia.
