2014, Clay Pigeon Shoot
Sunday 5th October 2014 at 10am
Southern Counties, Wardon Hill, Evershot, Dorchester.
Another great day with lovely sunshine, mild weather and the usual full English breakfast for just £4.00!! – brilliant.
A good turnout of oldies and youngies with the best being Myf Adams who shot like Annie Oakley, getting a pair at the end in the “clay rabbit and pheasant”. Myf thoroughly enjoyed it, though next day she was sporting a huge bruise at the top of her arm and not looking good in her summer clothes for Italy that week!
Roddy Long, Jim Rowe, Hutch Wright, Alec Crawford, Myf Adams, James Sienesi, Cansh Pope and Richard Clist. Front row: Mark Sienesi. Phoebe Pope, Tegan Pope and Andrew Clist
The top marksman was Mark Sienesi with 64/90, followed very closely by his brother James with63/90. Actually they fell out at one point! So Mark gets the shield for best shot on the day. Others competing were George Hayter, who gave up after 24 shots with no hits, followed closely by Alec Crawford and our president Roddy Long, both with6/30. Andrew Clist, Richard’s son, 10/90. JHFR (without hangover this year!) 11/50. Hutch Wright 22/50. Cansh Pope with assistance from Kathy future Pope 36/90 suitably armed with his 15-shot repeater, and Richard Clist a fine 51/90.
Apologies received from Howard Roberts, Tom Hembrow, Giles Blomfield, Robin Grey, Chris Bryan, Bryanston School and Monday morning Milton Abbey School!
Although there was no competition with other schools this year, it was a darn good fun morning. Watch this space for next year which could be provisionally Sunday 28th June 2015 at Little Burton Farm, Lewisdon nr Sherborne, because Southern Counties may not be offering the facility. That will be in conjunction with the tennis, which will be Saturday 27th June, all by kind invitation of Ian and Myf Adams – thanks Myf.
